Dr. Nutan Kumar

Dr. Nutan Kumar is a highly accomplished Consultant Interventional Cardiologist bringing over 13 years of comprehensive medical experience to the table, with a specialised focus on interventional cardiology for the past five years.

His academic journey began at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), where he earned his MBBS degree. Driven by a commitment to excellence, he pursued further specialisation, obtaining an MD in General Medicine from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bangalore, and a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) General Medicine from NBE, Delhi.

Dr. Nutan’s early career saw him as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bangalore, where his passion for both teaching and patient care flourished. He furthered his expertise by earning a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology from Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College, Jaipur, Rajasthan. During his training, he gained proficiency in various cardiac procedures, including ECG, 2D and 3D Echocardiograms, TEE, TMT, Angiograms, Radial Angioplasty, Pacemaker implantation, and device closure procedures.

Embarking on his journey as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Nutan Kumar made significant contributions at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Mysore. His compassionate and expert care earned accolades from patients and peers alike. He later joined the esteemed ranks of Karunya Hrudayalaya and ventured into leadership roles at Hosmat group of Hospitals and Aaxis Hospital at Whitefield, catering to the cardiac needs of East and North Bangalore.

Within these institutions, Dr. Nutan’s hands conducted numerous life-saving procedures, including Angioplasties, Pacemaker implantations, primary PCIs, complex PCIs, peripheral interventions, and various cardiac procedures.

Dr. Nutan’s pursuit of academic and professional excellence is manifested in his prolific research contributions. As an author and co-author of multiple articles published in prestigious international and national journals, he demonstrates a commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care. His involvement as a co-investigator in clinical trials, such as the INVICTUS trial and the COSTA INDIA Trial, has contributed to the global understanding of cardiovascular diseases and treatment modalities.

Recognized for his academic contributions, Dr. Nutan has received awards for the Best Paper & Poster presentations in several national cardiology conferences, solidifying his standing as a leading figure in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Nutan’s area of expertise encompasses a wide range of cardiac interventions, including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Complex PCI, Peripheral Angiography, Valvular Intervention, and various imaging techniques. His holistic approach includes the management of arrhythmias, pediatric disorders, congenital heart diseases, and disorders of mitral and aortic valves.
