Dr. H B Chandrashekar

Dr. H B Chandrashekhar, a distinguished Consultant in Pulmonology, Somnology (Sleep Specialist), and Allergist/Immunologist, boasts over four decades of expertise in the field. Graduating from Bangalore Medical College in 1978 and obtaining his MD in Pulmonary Medicine from Mysore Medical College in 1983, he embarked on a notable career. Dr. Chandrashekhar contributed significantly to respiratory medicine during his tenure at the India Council of Medical Research – TB Research Centre, Chennai, and later as a Professor and Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at MS Ramaiah Medical College.

His commitment to advancing the field led him to undertake visiting fellowships in the USA and Australia. With a wealth of experience in prestigious corporate hospitals, he specializes in treating a spectrum of pulmonary conditions, from common to complex cases in pulmonology, asthma, and allergy.

Dr. Chandrashekhar has been a trailblazer in sleep apnea, pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma, and allergy. He holds fellowships in the Indian Sleep Disorders Association and the Indian Academy of Allergy, highlighting his significant contributions. As the Founder and Director of the Centre for Pulmonary Education and Innovation at Malleshwaram Pulmonary Consultants, he has played a pivotal role in technological advancements related to pulmonary rehabilitation, virtual live clinics, and remote asthma monitoring.

His memberships in esteemed organizations such as the Indian Chest Society and Indian Association of Occupational Health underscore his commitment to professional growth. Dr. Chandrashekhar is fluent in Kannada, English, and Hindi, and his field of expertise encompasses diverse areas, including chest disease treatment, sleep disorder treatment, and innovative approaches like bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy.
